Art on Track – Discounted Tickets
“I was reading an article in The Red Eye about crazy things you could rent in Chicago. And on the list was a CTA El Train.”
“You just rent the train?”
“Right, anyone can do it.”
He’s right, anyone can do it, but only Tristan Hummel (Salvo’s front man) read the Red Eye article and created the exercise in spectacle exhibitions known as Art on Track.
Allow me to repeat what’s been said before: it’s an 8 train-car extravaganza that makes stops along the ways so you can switch cars. There is a special VIP event where you pay more for a ticket, and busty cocktail waitresses in French-maid costumes serve sparkling cider out of plastic champagne glasses — no wait, scratch that. That was my idea, and I don’t think Tristan incorporated that into the exhibit. I also proposed having mimes around for the maiden voyage.
Who doesn’t love mimes?
“They could ask like they’re pulling the train with imaginary ropes,” I said.
There will be, however, 1,200 plastic balls with blinking lights, an interactive fashion show (where one is flash-primped and given a push to go down a train car runway), and all these people and art groups.

I suggest buying tickets online on today, as no media outlet has neglected this event and I suspect it will sell out.
